Rowena Samarasinhe | Managing Director, GENSport ​​​ 

 

An ex-athlete, Rowena Samarasinhe has spent more than 20 years working in commercial sport and is a specialist in international sponsorship and broadcast agreements. She has negotiated and implemented commercial deals for the largest properties in the industry, from groundbreaking deals for international sports bodies to major endorsements with the most renowned athletes in the world.  Alongside this, Rowena has driven the development of new sports concepts in some of the most historic and complex sports in the industry. She sits on a number of sporting boards and is a corporate speaker on inclusive leadership and recently delivered a TEDx talk on the subject of sport and diversity. Rowena is passionate about changing perceptions within the industry and her experience both personally and professionally has given her a unique perspective of sport, from grass roots to high performance level with the consideration of players and athletes themselves remaining at the heart of what she does.

 

Today, through GENSport, Rowena works with owners and investors to unlock the commercial potential in sport and women’s sport in particular – delivering innovative, consumer-centric strategies tailored to unlocking a new generation of sports fans.
