Kariman Abuljadayel | Olympic Athlete – Sprinter

Kariman Abuljadayel is an Olympian, Guinness World Record holder, and architect with an academic and athletic career. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from Northeastern University in Boston, followed by a second master’s degree in the history of art and architecture from SOAS University of London.

  

A trailblazer in Saudi sports, Kariman made history as Saudi Arabia’s first female sprinter to compete in the 100m at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She later served as a High Performance Advisor at NEOM, contributing to the development of its sport strategy.

  

Beyond athletics, Kariman co-founded the Saudi Rowing Federation and currently represents Saudi Arabia as a national team cross-country skier. She made history once again as the first skier to be officially signed by a Saudi sports club, joining AlNassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team. She is also a Champion of Peace with the Peace and Sport organisation, under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. In addition, she serves as Chair of the Athletes’ Commission at the Asian Rowing Federation, is a board member of the Saudi Olympians Association, and sits on multiple athlete committees focused on advancing athlete experience, governance, and high-performance systems across sport.
